Battery life... feedback from anyone who has upgraded? Better or the same?
My battery on 4.2.1 was phenomenal. Ever since I upgraded to 4.3 (then 4.3.1, then 4.3.2), it has been noticeably poor. Would love to hear if this actually made any improvements in this area.

So what standard would a computer transmit to a new AE. Bonjour, nor current WiFi have the bandwidth to stream a movie over. And since you would most likely download this movie to a desktop for view within your house vs a laptop/ipod for away from home viewing, it would be plugged into an outlet. And an Airport express plugs dircetly into a wall, would it be possible to use Broadband over power lines within the home, in combo with some WiFi flavor to transmit and reconstruct the signal? Just a thought. Sorry if this has already been discussed elsewhere.

I saw that - but TBolt has always had two 10-Gbps channels per port.
I'm looking for a statement that says that each port is independent - so that you get 4 channels (two ports with two channels each) with an aggregate throughput of 40 Gbps (each direction).
That's not possible with a PCIe x4 link to the controller as is shown in the Intel diagram. Since the teardown shows only one TBolt controller - either the Intel diagram is incomplete (it doesn't show the possibility of a PCIe x8 connection), or the two Imac TBolt ports share the bandwidth of a PCIe x4 connection and cannot simultaneously run all channels at the rated bandwidth.
This entire Thunderbolt hypefest gives the term "vaporware" a whole new definition.

Anti-phishing measures implemented in Safari can only be a good thing and I'm delighted to see them.
And as for the finder - any improvement there is good. Let's hope there's more of this gradual improvement to come.

My wife and I really enjoy our rooted Droid Xs. My mom wants a Droid X so she agreed to get the I�hone and trade me. I think changing it up and getting the iPh�ne, won't be a bad thing, that way we can have one of each of the best of both OS. I'm glad I don't have to switch to AT&T for it either, never considered a iPho�e till now. Don't know how long before the bionic comes out so I'm willing to be the oddball with the phone all my friends have, in a different color.

I have a feeling iLife 07 will be included with Leopard. If they are indeed waiting to ship them together it would really be horrible to wait until say April and then turn around and expect people to buy iLife 08 in 8 months.
My gut feeling is iLife 07 will be a part of Leopard and then back to the normal releases after.

I was able to get 4 console clients running as I put the program in four different folders and ran the -local command and different device IDs. None of them worked as they wouldn't connect or something, can't remember the exact error. I also remember seeing the IP address was blank.
I'll play with it some more tonight when I get home.
There are no GPU clients for PPC right? Thinking my 7800GT could do something useful?

GPU only works in windows, so you are out of look. but if you decide to build an i7 system, you can get over 30,000 PPD, depending on what all you buy

Power consumption as a part of total cost of ownership should be considered if cost is a primary concern. As the OP himself admits, he's frugal.
There isn't an analogy more apt than buying an old, cheap gas guzzler. You think you're making out okay, but over the long run, the "cheap" option could be more expensive.
I was being conservative with my estimates - if you live in an electricity-expensive part of the US, price per kWh could be 50-60% more than the 9c I used in my example. If you do anything other than letting he G5 sit idle, you'll consume electricity even more inefficiently. Depending on usage, you could easily hit $200-$250 as the cost of running a dual G5 for a year. A Mini doing the same tasks won't even hit $50. Over two years, the cost will be $300-400 more over a Mini. In three years, $450-$600. There's not cost advantage there anymore. Not only that, in those three years, you'll have been running on an increasingly unsupported platform.
If cost isn't your game, then go to town. But then don't pretend like price is your primary concern when it isn't. I have two unused G5 Power Mac towers that I bought used for mod projects just because I like the case design.

I must say I was a bit disgruntled when I saw that international orders would ship in 2 to 3 weeks, especially since I got a 4 to 5 week estimate.
Anyway, I just checked my status and it hasn�t budged from April 25th.
Now it says April 21st...which makes it 4 3/7 weeks after I ordered it. That still sounds like 4 to 5 weeks to me.

My only complaint is the slowness of Outlook syncing with Exchange 2010. There's at least 20 seconds delay when getting email on my iOS device before Outlook 2011 opens it. Outlook 2010 is instant.
I am not a heavy user of Office products.
This is annoying for me as well. But I believe it's due to the way that Outlook 2011 has to connect. Outlook 2010 uses MAPI whereas Outlook 2011 uses EWS. I'm guessing EWS doesn't support push, or is limited to only checking once a minute.

they have replacement and waranty supply at every store that aren't for sale or inventory, only for replacements. If you check a dozen other threads you'll see many people (not just noobs) with this issue who have gotten a couple replacements. I'm too lazy to link you but go look.

It's already possible (for free) to stream video content from the EyeTV over WiFi to the iPhone/iPod touch. All you needed to do is connect to the EyeTV server running on your Mac using Safari on the iPhone/iPod touch. However, you can't control the application remotely and you can't view live TV (only video that you had prerecorded) so the advantage to this new iPhone app is that it enables live TV viewing and control of the EyeTV application running on your Mac.
Now, if it really works over 3G without jailbreaking your iPhone then that would be something new.
