A lot of people have more than 5GB in their music collection, so for these people the Amazon service doesn't work.
You need/want more space, you can pay for it. Buy one album now and they'll give you 20 gigs for a year, for free. 20 gigs for your MP3s otherwise is only $20 per year.
I already have 1000 gigs of storage online at my disposal (two commercial servers). But personally, since I don't have a dog in the Apple vs. Amazon race, I'll take 5 gigs online for free (where ever) without complaint. If Apple offers 5 gigs free, I'd probably go for it too. What the heck -- it's not coming out of my pocket. Besides, competition is a good thing. :)

Hopefully they get rid of the sharp needle points where you open the cover. I know a guy who slashed his wrist open on the sharp point.

You're lie detector statement is total BS. Lie detectors are not admissible in a court of law; also a court can not compel someone to take a polygraph. My previous history would be easily disputed. There were no witnesses present (besides my mother) when I was highbeaming her and laying on my horn. There were however cars present when she brakechecked me. There was one car present when I brakechecked her, but not when I cut her off. The simple fact is that I plan these things out in order to reduce my legal exposure, and increase the other person's legal exposure, in case there were to be an accident/law suit.

Guys if you read the article the robber completely deserved it. Gunfire was exchanged, meaning they shot at the security guard who rightfully dispatched the piece of **** criminal.
I know for many in this thread its easy to play armchair security guard but in real life, if someone shoots at you and you know its you or them I'm pretty sure you'd shoot back.

Don't cry - a tablet would be the absolute worst interface for edit digital photos, so there's absolutely no chance that'll be happening at photokina.

For iTV, you need a computer with a large HD, a home network, a TV with HDMI or component video input and an iTV.

Home network? Perhaps, but iTV may connect directly to your cable/DSL modem.
TV with HDMI/Component inputs? Probably.
A computer with a large HD? Assuming the intent is to stream purchased movies from your computer, sure.
But what if that isn't the real purpose? Imagine an iTV directly connected to the internet, offering access via your TV to:
Internet radio
Internet television
Audio/Video Podcasts
Internet games
Pay per view
... and if you do happen to have that home network, access to your own media content.
No 'productivity' applications, pure entertainment. No worries about backups. No worries about anti-virus.
An entertainment appliance.
Better yet, an entertainment appliance that plays well in a world where more and more people, not just the professionals, are providing content.
The internet today is full of wonderful, bizarre, informative, dull, sick, funny, sad and entertaining things, that require some effort to find. It's a constant battle to stay on top of the latest sites, find the coolest links, etc.
What if iTV is really about taking the work out of that?
Not about making it easier to bring Hollywood into your home, but the world?

I would love to see an Apple Phone with these features:

you're setting a high bar. my samsung a900, considered a very small RAZR-like phone, weighs 100g and lacks most all of the other feaures you want. (ex: the extended life battery adds 30g and even with it, the samsung's criticized for poor battery life)

There's nothing to set up. You should increase the setting to maximum when you first install Windows 7, but other than that it has nothing to do with playing games online.
Because the cumulative vulnerabilities of third party software such as Flash, Java, and etc included by default in Mac OS X inflate the count for Apple. Vulnerabilities are attributed to the vendor if included by default. Most of these third party softwares have worse security in Windows.
Flash, Adobe, Java, etc. all have virtually identical issues under all three OSes. It's rare you see something that only affects one, unless it's a significantly different program.

Bono still sucks, U2 has always sucked, and, much as i like a) the color of the new iPod and b) fighting AIDS, Apple's weird extended relationship with Bono makes very little sense to me.

I've waited a year and a half or more for a larger iPod. My mac has almost 70GB of music and I hate manually changing out songs. I never went to the video 5G since the only difference was video with no larger drive... music only for me. If I was to upload album art for all of my imported music 17 thousand plus songs does that take up alot of storage room? Anyone know how much art adds to storage??:p
no, album arts don't take up that much of a space
and believe me, you won't be able to put artworks on EVERY SINGLE one of your song file.... you can't, technically.
and as for the video... well i thought the same way as you did, but now that i got the video one(my old one was photo) it just totally blowed my mind... video thing is just too a great stride for me to deal with
i'm a music lover myself and that was the only reason that prompted me to buy an ipod but now it seems that peripheral things appease more than anything these dyas

because the p910 when released was a $AU1300 phone. i dont want to be paying for that TWICE (no phone is free. u either pay up front or you pay in your monthly contract) if i change carrier. you dont get a new Mac because you change ISP, do you?

They're going to use a stripped down box connected to a TELEVISION to do things like send email and surf the web??? :eek: By making that box a full fledged computer, you just tripled the price at least. What a horrible idea. If you're going to spend the money on a computer, why not make it useful as a computer instead of wasting money by using it only to play back TV programs? And with your proposal, how does someone watch TV while someone else is surfing the web?
