You're also the guy that will wreck his car because I force you to, and you're also the guy that I will then sue to pay for my deductible and any applicable medical costs. And I'm the guy that will laugh in your face and say "gonna move for me next time?" as I walk out of court and you cut me a check.
I'm sorry, but if you're the guy that goes 70mph in the fast lane and refuses to move, you are at fault for what ever I chose to dish out to you, for not having the common courtesy to move your car.

And your ethics take an even worse.
The system is clearly broken and you are living proof of it.
Heck if something like that you did that me i would use this thread as poof your actions and laugh my ass off when end up in jail.

That statement isn't *quite* true. A lot of people bought the DLO Home Docks (sold at Best Buy and other retail outlets) largely because they allow a docked iPod video to send video out to a TV set via s-video or RCA cables, and the user to control it remotely with the dock's included remote.
This is fairly remarkable, considering that the really only viable place to watch these movies is on an iPod! Yes, you can watch it on your iMac, or on your television hooked to a Mac Mini, but really, the set top box (iTV) can't come soon enough! Furthermore, this is really the kind of content that lends itself to the TV, rather than the iPod (Disney movies that parents put on replay for hours on end.)
Of course, maybe these stats are dominated by those who wanted to watch Coyote Ugly on the train, on their way to work ;-) .

They're not. You're seriously whining about "taking so long" when the first announcements came *earlier today*? Really? A "delay" of HOURS is something shareholders are going to freak out over???
Why don't you read the rest of my statement, fanboy?
If Apple announces that the new Merom laptops are available and are ready to ship that day, then it isn't a big deal.

Do a poll macrumors.... Us 6 want them pulled Now!!... the others not quoted want them to stay on the App Store for no real good or beneficial reason
I haven't decided either way.. but I also want a poll! Polls are fun.

Canada is sounding awfully good to me right now.
Taxes, cell phone fees, gas and car prices are higher here. Pay for professional jobs also seems relatively lower compared to the US.

Dont know if anyone will bother reading this far in but these new imac core2duos still have the same 667mhz bus speed as before, we wont see new bus speeds till nearly a year from now i hear, that sucks, this system could probably warp ahead with a better bus speed, i wanna upgrade from my g5 dual 2.7 (1.35ghz bus speed if i remember right) but im not sure how much diffference it would really make to me, and going mac to an imac from a powermac is a bit odd for me (im a 3d animator) there are pros and cons but im still tempted, main think holding me back is an intel maya, although i could always bootcamp windows and use that version!

I agree that app store is a very generic term, but in order to avoid all the legal troubles and the money and time lost, why not just create your own name?
Microsoft has their own name. I guess they are just trying to protect the descriptive nature of the term. "Microsoft Marketplace, the app store for Windows Phone 7".
Microsoft does not intend to use the trademark.
I don't get why Apple filed for such a descriptive mark anyway. iTunes App Store was what they called it at first, what was wrong with that ? iOS App Store would also save all these legal troubles. Apple App Store another that's perfectly fine.

You'll go nutz in couple decades when our CPU's aren't even in our homes anymore. Start to get used to the idea of "cloud" slowly :)
Back to the seventies - history repeats itself
My favorite is the dropbox cloud approach, which is a nice hybrid: I have everything local but I have it accessible in the cloud and synced to all the machines I care about. (Won't work for my music lib since too big) ... but while we have no affordable fast internet everywhere, this is the solution of my choice. That way I can work on the local data while 'offline' and it syncs back to the cloud once I am online again.
Nice to see that Apple is putting out a solution that will work for my music lib, and I hope it is a similar hybrid approach. I just hope it is true that it allows to add music not purchased in the iTunes Store ... I have tons of CDs that I ripped into my iTunes library (I was buying CDs since they day CDs came out in the last century and have a quite big collection).

What if you downloaded the movie to your Macbook Pro and went on a business trip? Or you only own a laptop?
HOW are the members of your family going to watch the movie?
Just copy it to the computer at home. How are the members of your family going to use a computer if you take the only one with you?

This doesn't mean they will just re-brand a phone...it might just mean they are buying transmitters/etc. from other sources rather than engineering their own. Depending on what they buying "off the shelf," this only makes sense...why re-create the wheel?
Of course they may end up just re-branding a phone, but that doesn't really seem like the Apple thing to do.
Apple will most likely buy a platform from a manufacturer like SonyEricsson. That doesnt mean it will look or feel like a SonyEricsson. LG has bought platforms from SE and they differ quite a lot from SE's phones.

Because I don't know much about computers- can Leopard run on just Core Duo processors or does it need to be Core 2 Duo?
Leopard will even run on PowerPC macs.

I read a good tweet about this:
Password protect your phone. Password protect your computer. Nothing has changed.
The iPhone is sold on how easy it is to use and that you don't have to fiddle with things. But it's shown time and time again that despite everything they do to keep it as simple and user friendy as possible, it's not true.
Most iPhone users won't have a clue about how to do this. If Apple had actually encrypted the file this wouldn't have been this huge problem.

Guys if you read the article the robber completely deserved it. Gunfire was exchanged, meaning they shot at the security guard who rightfully dispatched the piece of **** criminal.
I know for many in this thread its easy to play armchair security guard but in real life, if someone shoots at you and you know its you or them I'm pretty sure you'd shoot back.
A couple of the articles also mention that over 40 rounds were fired. That is a lot of shots being exchanged. The fact the security guard was able to defend himself and take down an armed suspect under that kind fire is pretty amazing. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I think I really figure it out now.
FrontRow/AirPort Express/iTunes-downloadable/iPod-docking station Media Center device. It will sync your iPod wireless too.
Here's why...
1) People are buying iPods and iTunes' videos already at 320x240 and being profitable; no reason to change
2) People can now stream music, videos (home or purchased), pics to their TV wirelessly
3) People can now sync music, videos (home or purchased), pics to their iPod wirelessly
4) This is NOT meant to compete with Blockbuster. It's simply bringing the computer's content to the living room...not the computer itself.
How much do you want to bet that this 'special event' will be streamed using this device. You heard it here!

Personally, I really would like to see all day battery life from the new MBA instead of cpu upgrade. That would make the air a must buy.

Speaking of returns, is there a possibility of buying the machine and if they don't auto-upgrade me to the new one, return it and buy a new one?
Only if you buy the machine but don't open the box (unless you're willing to pay a 10% restocking fee). And that's only if you get the standard config, no custom BTO. Plus if you order it, you'll pay shipping back to them.
this goes to show how behind apple is in updating.
clearly they arent ready to adapt to an intel platform. the cant even make simple processor adjustments on time!
all the major companies have made this transition.
Actually NONE of the pc companies have made the transition. They haven't shipped a single machine with the new chips, just made announcements of shipments days or weeks away (and that was just earlier today...even if apple was behind, they'd only be hours behind, not even a full day). Right now apple is only behind in press releases, which has nothing to do with being ready to adapt to an intel platform. Now ranting about PC companies that haven't shipped the new machines yet...THAT is ridiculous.

So Apple pays $100mil, and it sounds like Creative may be getting out of the iPod competition biz... and into the iPod accessory biz (which is probably more lucrative).
yeah, maybe apple had that planned or something:D but eek $100 million is a lot!
