I talked to the woman at MTSU who takes care of the Apple stuff today and she said they will be selling it for $69, but they will not be there until Monday. They are only getting 15 copies and you cannot pre-order.
Thinking about going to the Apple store and buying it anyways--I really want the t-shirt! :p Wife says I should wait until Monday!
I haven't heard that... but will check it out.

Friend of mine has a extra Extreme card that he wants to sell, so I thought I would help him out. $55 with shipping. PM if interested.

I suspect you'll want to play with the following three values. Interestingly, when I click on a clear area, I select the window behind it.
[self.window setBackgroundColor: [NSColor clearColor]];
[self.window setAlphaValue: 0.99];
[self.window setOpaque: NO];

Look into the Cylinder of Destiny/Golden Triangle.
In this scenario you use AD for authentication and OD for computer/user management. This would be the best way to do what you are trying to do.
Alternatively, use AD alone and use something like Casper from JAMF or Absolute Manage.

Couldn't somebody manufacture a mirror attachment to let you use the back-facing camera as a front-facing camera? It wouldn't be as good as a camera on the front but would it work well enough to let you do two-way videocalls now?
Software can certainly reverse a mirror image so that shouldn't be a holdup.

I really appreciate having the ability to control my DVR remotely and also having the ability to watch programming on my Smartphone or iPad2, but its a life saver to be able to watch all the programming Im subscribed to and all of my DVR recordings whenever I want even if Im not home. It seems Uverse is starting to provide these services to their subscribers although DISH Network completed this last year and with huge success. I work for DISH and I was one of the first to get a Sling Ready VIP 922 receiver which allows for this complete TV viewing anywhere theres Wi-Fi or mobile 3G network. Maybe next time Uverse revamps their app, again, theyll be able to provide entertainment to their subscribers everywhere.

Can MacRumors stop being butthurt and put up the "iPad" in the Buyer's Guide already? Many people from school, church, family have and still ask me about the new iPad 2. It would be really helpful to link them to the Buyer's Guide instead of the whole iPad forum were further search is necessary.

No mention of gameplay style, games, etc.
well it's about the olympics so that kinda gives a good idea of what games/sports are possible it's not like it's something obscure to imagine
actually sprinting,swimming and table tennis got mentioned so i kinda hope they add as many as possible... especially the not so well known

Does anyone have a good source that's covering what other vendors are coming out with at Macworld? Seems like everyone is rehashing the big announcements and barely anything else.....
Thanks

Macspeech came out with Macspeech Dictate.

I strongly advise anyone to reconsider purchasing any product from Macspeech. Buyer Beware.

Very interested, where in the UK are you located.
I'm in north Wales. You can contact me on 07515918444. It will be taken off later tonight. I will accept bank transfer or cheque. If it was bank transfer I would post same day and provide tracking details. I'm with hsbc.

One way you could do it is just make the slideshow in iphoto, it will be a lot easier. The only downside is you wont be able to edit the music.

I know I could just call Apple directly on this question, but thought I'd ask here too.
Let's suppose I do go ahead and place an order today at the Apple Store, for the current 15" TiBook, and I receive it a few days from now (or whatever the shipping time ends up being). Now further suppose that a week or so later, Apple announces an updated PowerBook and starts taking orders for those.
I've seen it suggested, in various threads over the past few months, that if such a product announcement happens within 30 days of the original purchase, Apple offers customers the opportunity to ship the "old" computer back and update to the newer model, but this sounds extremely unlikely to me. If I read Apple's Sales and Refunds (http://store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/salespolicies.html) policy, the only words that sound remotely close to this are those that discuss the ten business day window for returns due to "[dissatisfaction] with your Apple purchase of a pre-built product".
Can anyone comment on this?

Hello people,
I've been using iMovie 09 for some time now to make small youtube videos. I found the new iMovie to be a bit annoying to work with, but now I'm even disappointed. I can't seem to find any decent video effects. There are some that add overlays (like the ones in Photobooth) but nothing as much as iMovie HD.
Are there some decent freeware plugins out there? I looked around with aid of Google and found nothing but commercial :(
Or perhaps there is a way to import the iMovie HD effects into iMovie 09?
I like the way iMovie 09 manages my clips, so I rather stay in there than in iMovie HD. Right now I edit partially in both for my more demanding clips (wanted to make a small video with distorted static over the screen).
Many thanks in advance :)
Cheers,
Thedutchjelle

5:32 PM - there are about 40 of us in line. Not too bad.
One mother and teenage daughter just walked by and asked me what we were waiting for. I told her, and she looked at my macbook and said "Is the software for that thing?" I said yes. Turns out she bought a macbook for her daughter yesterday and no one told her about this... I told her about the $10 update cost for recent buyers. Funny.

Usually in a thriving industry, larger companies beat the competition by joining them. Look what Ecko did with Zoo York and Avirex. It's before a matter of time Gameloft or EA do the same thing (well EA already did with Playfish, and I'm sure it won't be their last).

Hey M.R. peeps,
Finally got my G3 up running for MR fold team,but 1 thing is stumping me on setup .. How do i setup folding@home when i'm complete n00b in terminal? :o :o
Use either increase or the mc68k script however I don't know how you would get the mc68k script as the site it was on no longer has it.:( He probably moved it and i was not paying attention. :o
