    Hi.
I applaud your attempt at the design. The layout isn't too bad actually.
I find myself in favor of the green on as it's turned a different way and forces the client to look twice and interact with the card.

I've seen some suggestions for blue on black, and I can tell you from firsthand experience, that that particular color combo can be the death of your layout. Text, especially thin text tends to disappear.
If I could give you any advice, it would be to make a color study if you have the time.
Pick 30-40 shades of each of the colors you chose, and mix up the combinations. See what works, narrow them down by half each succession through the study down to two combinations. Then pick the winner from that.
I did that with a logo, but I had 60 different shades of a green and yellow, and it finally came down to a neat 2 card design where I was able to play on the reversal of the color for the big boss and the guy underneath him-kept the corporate identity solid, but the switch let some individuality shine through.
Whoever posted about printers requiring a certain border for cutting was right. Find out from whoever your printer is what your die cut will be and give the card that extra size accordingly.
Write down colors you use, sketch ideas...lots of sketches, and know why you picked those colors and those typefaces.

As I said before, I liked the green option best, as it appealed to me most.
If you do decide to go with a designer, check if there is a local college or university with a good design program...ask about some of the students, check out their portfolios from the projects they've done.
If the students are able to take pre-press classes, only talk to students who've made it through that class.
Again, you've done well yourself and I think the green card and the composition has potential. Just keep working with it. My personal motto is "Push it until it breaks". So just make decisions, see what works and have fun above all.
    Good luck! :)

First thing. No the superdrive is a CD/DVD drive. It's not a hard drive. Unless you want to store your video on a DVD or something then yes you could burn it to a disk with the superdrive.
As for wanting to watch it. You can watch it on your Air (Just double click the file) or you can actually hook your Air up to your TV (Probably). You will need an HDTV with an HDMI in a VGA in or a DVI in then a display port to HDMI or VGA or DVI. You could also get an Apple TV but you can only watch it in 720 instead of 1080 (1280 x 720, and 1920 x 1080). This sounds like a big deal but it really isn't. Apply TV is 100 dollars so that might be too much. You can burn it to a DVD and then watch it in your DVD player but that won't be HD. If you got a blu ray burner and you have a blu ray player you could burn it to blu ray but this is expensive, both as the cost of blu ray disks is quite high and the cost and complication of getting a blu ray burner.

I merged "Using Grapher" into "Grapher" because both articles were short and it was redundant to keep them separate. However I can't "move" "Using Grapher" to Grapher, which I'm trying to do to redirect the page to the main Grapher article where all the same information is located. Um, is there a way I can redirect a page without a move operation?

    Thanks,
    Sebastian

This (http://aperture.maccreate.com/2010/07/30/share-libraries-between-aperture-users-and-use-dropbox-to-simplify/) should get you started. Just export the folders/projects/albums that you want to keep, choose a "master" and merge them all back together.

    Or...

You could just restore from your vault or Time Machine. That would likely be much faster.

Did you take this picture? If this is just a general thread for "Pictures from Egypt", you should at least extend the courtesy of identifying and giving credit to the photographer.

    Agreed, apologies. Fixed now.

Whadda you mean Santa and the Easter Bunny aren't real!!!???!!!

ok ok, I guess that explains why they always miss my house! :D

Anyway, I think moto may be working on their new chip, that is if they care. I work in electronic component sales, and yes my company is a moto distributer. I get to see what the PPC's are selling for in their raw form (public costs anyway ie. $146 US for a G4 500MHz in 44pcs lot [keeping in mind that is just the core before apple plays with it! no wonder apples cost more! Blame motorola]) and motorola is still charging to much for their processors. They are going the way of embedded procs and don't really seem to care about the PPC division. The most development is in coldfire procs. Anyway, I'm getting off track kinda. What i wanna say is that I have no doubt that motorola will finish the 7470, they will just do it on their time, which unfortunatly is slooower than a PC rendering graphics on photoshop! By the time they get it out they'll have changed it so much that Apple will have gone to [hopefully] faster and better IBM processors.
So until then we should just take what we can get and be happy we are'nt running winblowz XP :D :D

I've has Apple replace about seven of them. Just show it to one of the sales people in the Apple Store and they'll ask you when you got it. Just make sure you say within the past two months or it'll be out of warranty.

In my opinion the dock cables aren't as great as they used to be. I think they went down hill around summer 2008.

The iBook was around $20 bucks... so that's already cheaper than a G3 tower and I'm not too worried about replacing its parts as it would be more efficient to replace the whole.

I hooked it up and did the file sharing so I could connect from other macs....
One thing I noticed is that when I tried to play videos on my iMac G4 it stuttered constantly... at first I thought it was the iBook that was inadequate as a server... but when I tried playing the same videos on my MacBook Pro... it ran smoothly, as if it was playing from its native drive.

It didn't matter what type of files they were... H.264, AVI, .mov, mp4s you name it... all the same result... MBP = smooth, iMac G4 = stutter. I checked activity monitor to see if the iMac was too 'slow' to play them.. but it showed only about 50% of the CPU was being used with the rest just sitting idle. Both the MBP and iMac G4 are running on 802.11G.

I also don't think the 100megabit ethernet is a bottleneck since the bigger bottleneck seems to be airport itself. Correct me if I'm wrong... but isn't 100mbps ethernet faster than 802.11G?

Lastly, sorry for the long thread... but the iBook is running 10.3.9, Tiger seems to bring it to its knees... and rightly so. I have 2 hard disks I tried on it... a 500GB FW drive and a 1TB FW drive... they are both formatted for mac... but the iBook doesn't recognize the 1TB drive and says I've inserted a disk that the computer can't read. The 500GB FW drive works just fine. Is there a size limit specifically for iBooks? My iMac G4 can read the 1TB drive but it's running 10.4... If it is the OS, is there any way around it?

This is rather urgent as I have to meet a deadline.

There are corrupt MP3 files on this NTFS drive that are marked with "nogo" in the name. I've copied some of the files to my Mac, then run the Automator and it works fine. It labels any file with the word "nogo" in the name a certain color.

It works fine with all files and subfolder files and so forth, so it works. It works on my external FAT drive as well.

I have read/write capability due to Paragon's NTFS. I have been able to successfully read and write dozens of files however the Automator action always returns an error when run on any file or folder that is on the NTFS drive and ONLY the NTFS drive.

    What gives?

    HI,
Any idea how I can make is animation view more modular?

I have several UIViewControllers and they have buttons that will call a sliding pickerView. The dataSource on the pickerView would be different but everything else is the same.

Right now I have an animated view in one ViewController but I'm guessing the other ViewController will have problems calling this and it appears when other ViewControllers are active?

    Thanks.

WMV. Vomits!!! :) I have Flip 4 Mac which I use for converting this bastard format my "odd" clients sometimes give to me. They offer a free plug-in for playback you peeps should check out. BTW, MS bought this company the other year right when they pulled their MASSIVE-POS WMP from OS X.

Video, one more notch on MS's mediocre belt.

    Oooooh, motion control...

This games looks cool and I look forward to playing it, but it's Factor 5! They made Rogue Squadron 3, :( which is one of the worst Cube games. (The only good part of this game was the RS2 co-op.) It's the only game I owned that actually froze my Cube. They're good with "arcade" flight, but when it comes ot running a character around, they don't know what they're doing. Their earlier RS games were much better.
