Yes, you know what an "app store" means if you know what an "app" means.
Does an "app" mean an Apple program?
It's doesn't matter what MS calls it. There's a class of programs everywhere called "applications". There's no other name for it.
Applications are a strict subset of programs.
Apple didnt TM application or app they TM appstore.
I dont see why people are trying to argue the wrong point.
MS can call it something, I and others have given different names they could use. MS has the marketplace, hell that is a generic name as well. Should apple sue them for that?

This sucks. Doues anyone know on what patent they infinged exactly?
This one (http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20060515-6838.html). It's U.S. Patent 6,928,433 if you want to look it up for yourself at uspto.gov (http://www.uspto.gov).

Shame that everyone is going to jump to conclusions rather than work out why this is stored.
And really, would you rather have the information stored on the device or logged by Google?
Neither, I was wondering how long it would be before some fanboy would bring up Google.

My only problem is there doesn't seem to be an education discount right now on the new iPods. Just 249 and 349.
I'm guessing this will change once the current edu promotion is over...

YES!!! We just had an Apple event and we're having another one?! I love looking forward to these. Obviously Aperture 2.0 is going to be showed off, but what else? I'm hoping for new Cinema Displays, but that's kind of doubtful. Probably updated MacBook Pros will be announced. :)

What is the difference between listening to streaming music (subsciption) and apple's cloud... They wont actually store all my songs wont they just let me stream the music I purchased from the server?

Taxes, cell phone fees, gas and car prices are higher here. Pay for professional jobs also seems relatively lower compared to the US.

Merom MacBook Pro + Conroe iMac + speedbumped Mac mini + iTunes movie downloads + widescreen video iPod
That would be awesome. :) Add a larger capacity Nano to that.
New Apple Cinema Displays with glossy screens and iSights would be amazing.
Hmm... Maybe as an option? Glossy is great, but lots strongly dislike it.
Wtf does that even mean?!
I will are not know.

Apple may offer a choice of Core Duo 1 or Core Duo 2 as a BTO option.
Doing this might allow Apple to sell the Basic MacBooks and iMacs for less while
the Core Duo 2 models will be favored by those who can afford to spend a bit more.
Except that the Core Duo is no less expensive than the Core2 Duo, and because of inferior power management, is less suitable for laptops. And BTO CPU options for notebooks are unlikely, considering how they would make the product line more complicated, and they would require a change to a socketed CPU.

Does this mean I should hold off on getting a 27"iMac this year and wait for the 2012 Refresh instead of the 2011 Refresh? I assume the Sandy Bridge is going in the 2011 Refresh

I know. And heroics by gun toting civilians is mostly a product of fantasy as well. The idea of whipping your gun out to save the day is absurd.
It's only fantasy because not enough law-abiding civilians are toting guns.
Virginia Tech, Trolley Square, Columbine, Ft. Hood, the list goes on and on - someone trained, armed, and on location in any of those tragedies could have been a godsend.
The fact an off-duty policeman was onsite at Trolley Square certainly saved many lives, but an armed, trained civilian could have done the same.

I love the way so many people say that 'nobody' has a use for the SuperDrive.
Admitedly from when I got my MacBook in 08 till 10 I only used it a few times but this year I've actually used it quite a bit.
I've been doing a spot of photography for a club and at the moment there isnt a cheaper more convenient way of giving a few hundred+ MB worth of images to someone than on a CD/DVD that just took 2 mins to burn.
Without the SuperDrive my only option would be either USB stick (which cost more and you never get given them back anyway) or online via drop box (which takes ages as my ADSL is pretty slow as I pretty much live out in the sticks.
So personally I hope they keep the SuperDrive on the pro... until USB sticks become a few pence each anyway
Or just get a USB optical drive and have the best of both worlds ... you won't be forced to lug around something you only use once in a while :)

I sure hope the headset is on the back. can you imagine the grease from it being pressed up against your head all day long. Shiny black really isn't the way to go with e device that is going to be a phone. Granted that is an artist's rendition so there is still some hope. But I think this may end up being another case of design over practicality. I could only imagine what something like that would look like at the end of a day of use.
Which would warrant putting it in a case which ends up defeating the purpose of the beauty of the device.
