I don't care much for a bluetoothed version of this P.O.S.
At the moment the Mighty mouse has heaps of potential to be a great mouse if only Apple fixes the current issues it encounters such as sometimes not being able to scroll downwards, erratically activating expose (side buttons) when I don't even have my fingers near there and other few quirks....
Now if its going to be bluethooth, it'll be harder to tell whether its the mouse or the bluetooth faulting.

Picked a couple of these up a few days ago. Definitely not for picky writers. I still prefer a traditional .5mm mechanical pencil, but I love how smoothly these write.

OSX was not built on UNIX, it is Mach/XNU with a BSD subsystem, it is UNIX-like, much like linux.

It is the real deal, Unix '03 certified and all. The BSD userland qualifies as genuine Unix and the kernel provides the entire required POSIX syscall interfaces to pass the certification tests :

I dont know what people see in the Mighty Mouse, I tried one out in a local computer shop and found it VERY frustrating to use.

Wouldn't it be helpful to see a Gmail-style snippet of your new emails visible when you unlock your phone? Or possibly a small calendar display so you can see at a glance that there's a meeting you're booked into later? I guess it might be difficult to integrate these things without dramatically reducing the space visible for apps but I can imagine a lot of people having a use for this kind of functionality and Apple is denying people the choice at the moment.
I think it may be useful for the lock screen. For home screen I don't think it's much more effective than just launching separate apps to look at mail or calendar.
Anyway, I don't think that it's bad to have widgets or customization, I just think that it's not that important. It will make iOS better, but only a tiny bit better, it won't be any huge step forward.

For example, if I run Word on PC and click open file, then it will show me the whole filesystem with thousands of browseable folders, but only few of them actually contain any Word documents. Ideally, what I should be able to see instead is list of all Word documents on my computer and all connected devices in a very organized way that makes it easy to find any document in less than a second. I shouldn't care that one part of a report is in my local folder, another part is on flash drive and some other part is written by another dude and is on a network server, but file system wants me to care of these irrelevant things. I can think of hundreds other examples where file system gets in the way of organization and productivity. Basically, it's not the best way to manage documents and media and it should be superseded by something entirely different. And IMHO for Apple moving forward is so principal that they are willing to reject archaic ways of doing some things even if it's currently the ONLY way of doing them. Well, I don't know about this guy specifically. But I own over 20,000 vinyl records. Average 10 tracks each, that's 200,000 songs right there. Not to count at least that many 45's. A collection I've gathered over 50 years. Not to mention 78's, cylinders, etc.
The $1-per-song figure is also grossly inflated when you consider that many albums cost $7.99 to $9.99 and come with between 10-20 tracks. Look at the "Songs for Japan" album, for example. Good value there.

Yeah, after all if you buy a coffee there u have to sign a waiver of responsibility for burns, then reply YES three times to the cashier asking "Are you sure you want to buy this potentially scalding-hot coffee?" ... but what's it matter, thanks to people not wanting to take responsibility we can't buy coffee above 82 degrees fahrenheit. lol

Finally, a quad core desktop class machine (in processors only I suppose) with ample I/O and a decent . . . . for Apple . . . . price.
Shocked that Apple would give us TWO TBolt ports on the 27" with quad core across the line.
The $1700 has my cheap side tingling but my professional side is telling me to wait for a Mac Pro update so I can at least consider a machine I can expand myself.
On the plus side, that 21.5" is not a bad machine for the price.

Hmmm...I've never seen a power adapter on a plane, and I flew a few days ago (on a cheapo airline, but still...).
Normally only on long haul and even then only in Premium Economy and up. The cheap seats get no love!

Okay, I am trying to play a theoretical "game," if we start bringing in factors such as "Apple will work it out," obviously, my whole argument is useless.
We must try to PREDICT what the next MBA will be in terms of WHAT WE HAVE currently.
You are saying that MBA are not meant for gaming and other stuff. I KNOW, i am not saying I will play crysis 2 on max settings, you are placing my argument on the extreme side.
Understand that what im saying is that nearly all of us are casual gamers. we want to play a game here or two, and as High Schooler, I will play more games.
But my point is that even if we get a 40% boost in our CPU, it is near useless.
For example, lets say you have 100/100 in a test. Having a theoretical 40% boost will give you a 140/100. I mean, thats cool. Overkill. That is currently the CPU we have. We have enough to accomplish our tasks, and any more would be an overkill in the things we need our computer to process.
On the other hand, on the GPU side, you have a 80/100 (which is what the NVIDIA 320m is) and we see a 30% performance drop, that will result to a 42.5/100. At lower levels, difference between a 80/100 and 42.5/100 is the difference between a pass and a fail.
Of course, having a better CPU might be fulfilling to you and might give you the sense that you are the "latest in tech," but seriously, it is not about the CPU any more, it is about SSDs, ergonomics, GPU, and ultimately, Software.
If you feel so strongly against a SB update, buy the current MBA and live happily! Nobody can take that away from you. It will continue to function exactly as you expect it to, even if a SB update is released!

I'd wager that the photo is probably fake, but the info sounds real. It makes sense that M$ would cash in on their successful XBox name. The problem with Origami is that they had other people do it and that the Windows name doesn't hold much clout nowadays. You would think that Microsoft would actually put some of their R&D team on Vista so they can release it within a decade of XP instead of coming up with all these other hair-brained ways to waste their money.

while the technology would be very cool IMO... i could see it causing a lot of problems... it's a lot easier to accidentally move over a surface than to accidentally press keys/etc...
seems like it'd be more of a hassle in the end for a portable music player...
for a based application, say... touchless displays, etc, that aren't mobile... that might be more advantageous

Okay, this guy must live in a "garden" apartment or something. I live in NYC and the only place I drop calls 100% of the time is near the Verizon building by the Brooklyn Bridge. Irony of ironies.
But my dropped call percentage is less that 5%.
I live in Hell's Kitchen, and I rarely drop calls here, though data speeds during rush hour are pathetically slow.
I walk near Union Square every day on my way home from work, and every single time I'm at 5th Ave & 13th st. I drop a call... every single time... I can never hold a call near union square.
AT&T service is really not good in NYC. There's no point in my getting a 3Gs for faster 3G... it's all slow here, regardless of the model iPhone.
I drop about 15-20% of my calls. Near Union Square I drop 75-80% easily.
